"let me just say that almost everything I’ve ever heard associated with the term 'extreme programming' sounds like exactly the wrong way to go...with one exception"
"I also must confess to a strong bias against the fashion for reusable code"
"...the idea of immediate compilation and 'unit tests' appeals to me only rarely, when I’m feeling my way in a totally unknown environment and need feedback about what works and what doesn’t. Otherwise, lots of time is wasted on activities that I simply never need to perform or even think about. Nothing needs to be 'mocked up'."
Where should we do time estimation for a feature? is it when we build the features list? or when we determine the development sequence?

For product development, these paired design meetings and keeping them going late in the cycle is a wonderful idea.
I recently read Head First PMP which describes Project Management (PM) in a very visual and understandable way. The book is at the same time the Study Guide for the worldwide acknowledged PMP certificate from PMI Institute. I say this because it makes PM more tangible for people who are new to this field.
Hi to every one. I'm making an investigation about different methodologies and it's relation with database development, in a software development process. And I want to know how FDD include the database development process in its own methodology and how the FDD development team accomplishes task related to databases.
An interview with Jeff recorded in Hamburg, 2007.
From the se-radio website: "As the inventor of FDD Jeff gives short introduction to the method itself, talks about the basic ideas behind FDD and discusses with us how FDD relates to other members of the agile family."
I will slowly add my thoughts on how to combine "Earned value management" with FDD here to collect your feedbacks.
Because many government contracts require Earned Value management for tracking/auditing purpose.
Best wishes from Germany
Dear Jeff,
I am a developer from China, and I have 8 years experience in software development. I have applied FDD to project management nearly for 2 years, I like FDD really!
Today in China, XP is the most popular software process of agile methodology. Most of developers are all thinking AGILE IS XP, only a few people know FDD and few people apply FDD to their project management.
