Feature Driven Development

Being version 1.0 of this product we realise it may still be a little rough around the edges but we can assure you that any issues you find will be addressed promptly in regular point release provided free of charge. We thank you for your patience.

Also we do not want to dictate a feature set for this product, rather we want the FDD community to tell us what features they want in the product and that is what we will develop and maintain for them.

In the past i was try using the FDD methodology... and in my actual job i and other partner propose use FDD and... he an me are in the first project using FDD in the company.

I want to ask an FDD question regarding the feature list for the DM layer. We derived feature lists for the PD, UI, SI and DM layers, however our main FDD person is now telling me that we should scrap the DM list as DM features are never client valued. He says that such development work should be amortised within the PD feature list.

Hi to everyone, Do you think is possible to obtain a CMM level 2 or level 3 using the FDD methodologies?

I really want to know if it's possible or not, because a lot of people says that the agile methodologies are against CMM but I disagree because CMM sais WHAT DO YO HAVE TO DO, but doesn't sais HOW YOU MUST DO IT. Do you think that is possible to obtain CMM with FDD?, if it's possible how can I do it, where can I find information about this? or do you think that's better to forget the idea of CMM?

We've released a new version of the open source FDD Tools Project on SourceForge.
This release supports creating/editing the project with the GUI and saving/loading the project (in XML format). CSV files are still supported via the File->Import feature.

We hope the community finds the tool useful and appreciate any comments or feedback.

I am searching for an appropriate methodology for functionality deployed to a portal. This is a mix of code and file based configuration and "development" and configuration done through an administrative console. The latter may include permissioning, navigation definition, page creation, portlet instantiation, etc.

I am having tough time establishing an effective methodology for this type of development. It also makes controlled repeatable deployment problematic at best when an elevation consists of a packaged deployment (WAR, jsr-168 portlet, etc), an export/import form one portal environment to another and a series of clicks a human.
